Proofreading, however, is the final touch of perfection.  Proofreaders meticulously examine the book, searching for any remaining errors or typos.  They also pay attention to the details such as spacing, fonts, and the over-all visual appearance.  Proofreading ensures that the book is error-free, visually appealing, and ready to captivate readers.  This is the last opportunity to catch errors and correct inconsistencies relating to how the page looks.
